Looking at the classing and rules outlined by Conference of Autosport Car Clubs (CACC) and the International Conference of Sports Car Clubs (ICSCC), which are the 2 sanctioning bodies that govern the track the car would be raced at, we are very limited in what grouping it would fall into:

Production

GT (Grand Touring)

Formula

Sports Racing

Production: Loosely defined, the cars in this class are allowed only limited performance improvements such as springs, shocks, sway bars, and racing tires. Primarily a Conference (ICSCC) class, you will see everything from Hondas to Porsches competing for honours in A through H production. This is an ideal entry level for the racer starting out.

G.T. (Grand Touring): Considered to be the ultimate level of performance for production derived racing cars. Although initially conceived to allow maximum performance modifications to mass produced automobile, it also includes tube frame built race cars. Ranging from GT1 through GT5, these classes encompass evrything from ex-Trans AM cars to the latest Nissans, Mazdas, and Porsches. Determination of classes is based on a car weight to engine displacement factor.

Formula: All Formula cars are pure racing car designs and have little resemblance to the street car. One of the exciting new Series running at Mission is the Canadian Formula Drivers Association. Also running will be the Formula Fords, cars that use a 1600cc Cortina/Fiesta engine based on limited modifications, and the Formula Vees, using a Volksagen 1200cc engine.

Sports Racing: These unlimited, racing machines are where most of the Endurance race cars come from. These cars are pure competition designs intended to maximize the rules under which they are built. They are generally classified on engine size and today also include special marquee such as the Renault Elan sports racers.

if they didnt pop the hood or look in the car, we might be able to snake it into production lol, but my best guess would be G.T.

more updates: fuel system is complete, just gotta grab 2 fittings in the morning and button her up. Rad is in. It looks to be a modified EG unit by the looks of things.

As you can see the 1pc front end is also on now. Still need to play around with it quite a bit to get the alignment right.

Shift bucket and shift cables are secure. We opted to use a shift box from a 90-93 accord and modify the cable mount plate that bolts to the trans to give us the proper throw needed to slam gears. We went this route bc of the all steel construction of the older H/F shift boxes that can take all the abuse we throw at it. We did the same in K20 EG race car and it hasnt let us down yet.

On to the pics. Note, ill should have it running within the next week. ill post a vid once i get to that stage.

inital test fit of the the flip front.

testing.....

still testing.....

old mock up shot of the shifter box before the cables were installed onto the trans

Front End on, hinges roughly in the right spot, still needs major alignment

rad in place, fuel lines run, wires everywhere!

Modified K20 cable mount bracket.

90-93 accord Shift box assembly

Return line for the fuel system. Not entirely happy with it. No real spot to secure it either. Might pull the tank before i put fuel in it and get some tabs welded up on it so i can secure the lines a bit better.

Half of this makes no sense, the other half I just disagree with.

How does the accord shifter work with the 6 spd, is there enough travel to get it all the way over into reverse?

with the stock k20 cable bracket, no, there wasnt enough throw. We had to add about 1.5" of plate to the selector side of the cable bracket to get the proper throw.

with the modded bracket, it shifts like butta.

this is accord shifter bucket setup we did for a k-motor and the feel and shift 100% better than the RSX factory boxes. The accord boxes are all steel and feel sturdy and dont feel like they are gonna fall apart like the plastic pieces of ---- in the RSX.
