MSD cap for JDM h22a engine?
I have an old MSD 6AL setup and Blaster SS coil that I would like to use on my JDM h22a 1994. Does anyone know what my options are for routing a wire from the cap to the coil? There appears to be no part number/MSD cap for my engine. If anyone has done this before any advice would be much appreciated

I think I found it, http://www.msdignition.com/sci_8.htm
I'll give it a go. I can run the MSD 6AL on the h22 can I not? Its just the msd website does not list it when I put my engine in. Thanks |
Re: MSD cap for JDM h22a engine?
You can, but I wouldn't. MSD's are junk.
Going external coil helps with heat build up and coil/ignitor life. Personally, I'd run an external coil cap off an H22/H23, which already has a coil plug wire provision for lots less than the MSD unit. |
Re: MSD cap for JDM h22a engine?
By this do you mean modify my stock dissy cap? I can get a MSD tower to provide me with a means of getting the spark out of the dissy cap MSD coil/box. I dont mind doing this I just will make sure I have a spare dissy cap to hand.

No, I mean Honduh already makes external coil dizzy cap for your application. You'd ha ve to make the coil wire, but that's nothing complex.

Re: MSD cap for JDM h22a engine?
NEVER have I had a Problem with my or my friend MSD Blaster SS. Again Oil Filled coil are no reccommended for Hondas on EVERYTHING I've Hear. My Blaster SS I've had for 4 year with Zero Problems, my freinds for 2.
Don't waste money on MSD Caps though. Either buy a Factory one that has external or do what I do: http://hondatuningmagazine.com/tech/0502ht_distributor/ |
