MSD BTM
Has Anyone ever install Boost timing master B4. The instruction that came with it are for a GM HEI type distributer.
Any help would be great so I can turn up my boost :) Mike |
Re:MSD BTM
hit up MSD's website and look around, I pretty sure they have some PDF files somewhere on the site, that is what I used how to install it on my car..
It's pretty simple, if I remember right. Jeff |

Re:MSD BTM
Well after looking at the diagram a little more, I ended up calling MSD tech and he said that the MSD6 Diagram wont work for the MSD universal BTM.(PN 5462)
This is what He told me: Red Wire from BTM -- Black/yellow (Coil +) Don't cut (tap into it) White Wire from BTM -- Cut Blue/White(Coil-, your wire may be a different color) connect to white wire Black wire from BTM -- Chassis Ground Orange from BTM -- Conect to - Side of coil where blue/white was connected to. Now I need to install this bad boy and turn up the boost!! Mike |
Re:MSD BTM
Well BTM is In and well with added boost equals added fuel pressure from the FMU = ------- fuel leak at the fmu , oh well it is worth it.

Re:MSD BTM
What did you set it at? I noticed, on low boost apps, I have it hardly set up past .5

Re:MSD BTM
yes It is set at .5 but what a power loss from stock timing, thats ok better for my engine.

What do people have their static timing set at? Mine is on the 14 BTDC line and runnning 1degree per lb of boost. I am going to try lowering it to .5 because that's what everyone else seems to be using. |
Re:MSD BTM
My timing is still stock, I believe it is 16 BTDC.
