motor mount swap?
Ever since rebuilding my motor in my 2000 civic si Ive had problems with my drivers side motor mount having way too much play and then eventually tearing. I got a new mount and it ripped again. Im wondering if anyone has ever swapped out their mount from a 99-00 for a mount from a 92-95 which I think is similar to an integra mount? There are two brackets that hold the mount which looks similar to the passenger side mount. Im assuming I would just pull the old mount out and weld in the brackets for the new mount? has anyone tried this or have an easier way of fixing this horrible mount design in their 99-00 civic?
The problem is not necessarily the strength of the mount but the design really sucks. Theres no way to use an insert or anything its just flat out stupid. I found mounts that innovative makes that would be perfect but I dont wipe my butt with money so theres no way I can afford them. I think Im just going to try and copy their design and make my own using an eg mount and some scrap steel.

What does this mount look like? Maybe someone could employ their
engineering skills to come up with a cheap fix. Post up some pics.
Um you shouldnt be ripping mounts like that. Once maybe but all the time you have other issues. Finally you would need to change your engine bracket to a 3 bolt pattern fund on the gsr/ls 3rd gen integra and run a gsr mount not a civic mount. The gsr mount was designed around a heavier motor hence the difference. The civic sohc mount is very weak and needs to be filled to be used with a b series motor
