more mini-me !!

im getting ready to build one and just had a few questions that i could not find the answers to.....
1.when using the y7 block,do the pistons have the valve reliefs?2.should i put the vtec oil pump in the y7,and what about the vtec pistons from a y8 would they be any better?
3.i know thw 1.5 that came out of the hf crx wont work because of the pistons, but what about the 1.5 that came in the std or the dx

Yes, y7's are 16valves and are already setup for 4valves per cylinder.

No, you dont need to swap out oil pumps, the stock one is more than adaqute. The pistons, I also wouldnt worry about, the stock ones you have in the y7 block will do just fine, it really isnt worth swapping them out.

The D15b6 HF engine is a 8valve motor, and my personal belief is that the valves will probably hit, but rumor is that people have done mini-me's or a6 head swaps on HF engines, I've never seen it done, I think it was honda-swap that had the article on that. The d15b2 dx engine is a 16 valve motor, (same head as a a6) and will be just fine for a mini-me.

i did that swap....on the 8 valve before...........NEVER DO IT....unless you want hell. it'll run...and start...and drive. but you'll never idle right...timing jumps...and the valves WILL hit.....you can hear them as the car idles. i never blew or bent a valve..but i've seen it happen. good luck
