mini me swap runnin 17.7 WTF? helppp...
 
well i just made my 90 crx dx.. .into a si then did the mini me swap all at one time.. .and took it to the drag strip the clutch slips a lil in second but im gonna fix that but it only ran a 17.7 is there somethin i need to do maybe an adjustalbe came gear? i didnt mess with the timin much put it where the book says the belt should be.. didnt advance it or anything.. and when i get on it .. the car runs rich.. when its idling it runs lean... im pissed.. put a lil money in the car and its slow as hell!!

reasons are

(1)you didn't hook the ---- up right
(2)you can't drive for ----

there are so much ---- involve that causes your car to run slow. Perhaps take it to a dyno and you'll see if it's really running fine rather then sitting in front of your computer getting pissed off?

17.7 ouch, pretty embarresing.. I would definatly check your setup out, your car has to be running like ---- to pull a time like that. Dyno tuning is a good way to get some power.

well the clutch was slippin bad when u hit second and the engine sounds good as ---- when it revs the vtec and everything... checked compression its 150+ psi each cyl... i read somewhere before somethin about puttin ur timin belt a tooth advaced or some ----.. . maybe thats it? or an adjustable timing gear? and i was workin on it and tryin to find out what the deals was not just sittin in front of my pc gettin pissed off.. :) just tryin to think of a game plan...

correct me if im wrong...but when people talk about advancing there timing...they mean the distributor. cuz when i used to have my zc i ran a freakin 17.2 and i fixed the cam alignment(one tooth on the exhaust cam) and all the sudden(after improving my driving skills a lil) ran a 15.6.

u can advance the timing and the cam if u have an adjustable cam gear u advance or retard ur game ...

did u change your Fuel press regulator? injectors? im not sure if the pump has to be switched though

No, Mini Me's can use the same injectors, if oyu use the A6 intake manifold.

Fuel pump is the same.

Fuel pressure regulator *can* be the same, but is advised to swap out..

My friends and I have HUGE debates about SOHC "adjustable" cam gears.. Basically, it comes down to this theory, When you adjust a SOHC cam gear, you're adjusting your exahust cam timing as well as your intake, so any gains you're getting on the intake, are stifled on the exhaust... oh well

We argue about that all the time.. I guess one of us should just buck up the cash flow, buy a decent one, and take a family trip to the dyno and see who is correct.
