if you want to raise compression i assume you dont plan on boosting so what are you doing on HMT?? this question will get you alot of answers on HT, just gotta hope those idiots are right.

Re: Mini Me swap question..Which head

I'm here because i do have a HMT setup. but its on my cavy not, a honda. Honda tech is gay, and i don't own a honda so why bother going over there to ask. when this is mostly a honda site also and i should be able to get my question answered here. Also i don't believe in the "lower compression is better for boost" O0..but hte car isn't going to be boosted anyways, its his DD..he just wants it to be a little peppier ;)

also greddy07, from what i've heard the y8 head flows better, and since it keeps the same compression ratio, i think its a little bit better than the z6

You can get a thinner gasket, we offer them from Cometic down to .027". You can plug that value into the same CR calculator mentioned earlier, to see what your ratios will be with the thinner gasket.

On our A6 MiniMe project, we chose the Y8 head, because it allowed us to just plug in the OBD0 distributor without converting or repinning anything. Not sure about the combination you have, but it may be something you'll want to check out before commiting to a particular head type.

If you want to check out the gaskets, they are here - http://tunertoys.zoovy.com/product/C4195

that was another concern of mine was the dizzy.. allthough i'm searching for info on that. maybe someone can answer it before i find it myself. we are using a stock y7 bottom end, with a z6 head. and p2p for controll as of right now, but that can change if need be. what can i do for distro?

Re: Mini Me swap question..Which head

all 88-00 D series dizzy have the same bolt pattern except 92-95 vtec dizzys. td42u i think. the rest all bolt up and are interchangeable. so if you are using a z6 head use a z6/z1 dizzy and repin, or hack the mounts on any other dizzy to work.

Re: Mini Me swap question..Which head

You mention about the Oil Jet on the block of the Y7, where is it? Is that why sometimes my oil drip stick reads that I'm low on oil but when I topped it off and let the motor sit about 3-4 hrs and it reads full but the next morning I check it again and its way over filled? I have the same setup in my 93 DX coupe and I test the compression on each cylinder and got 199 for all of them. It does feel a little better then a regular D16Y8 or the Z6. But now that I'm going to put my stage 2 clutck kit in it and maybe feed a little dose of the SPECIAL stuff from the BLUE Bottle I can hit low 14's w/ street slicks.

Re: Mini Me swap question..Which head

same as an A6 minime, or very close to it. assuming you are talking about the obd0 sohc zc
