mini me advice
I have a 96 jdm d15 vtec motor in my car now. I just got a 00 y7 engine. I want to do a mini me but was told that i need an oil line to complete this swap. I wanted to know is this true and where can i buy an oilline and for how much. Also is that all i'll need to do this swap?

Re:mini me advice
Whoever told you that is smoking crack. You dont need a oil line install for a mini-me.
If the y7 has a oil orifice on the face of the block it will need to be removed. |
Re:mini me advice
you dont. just remove the oil jet thats in the block if it has one. the oil line is for a b-series ls/vtec.

Re:mini me advice
Hey thanks for the advice. So it's a simple swap right just changing the heads. And that oil orifice you mention where is that located?

Re:mini me advice
Wait a minute i know the oillines is for b series but this guy kept tellin me that the mini me gets an oilline. So that's why i'm asking.

Re:mini me advice
just keep the d15 vtec in there. thats a good engine, just rock it til the wheels fall off.

Re:mini me advice
i thought about keeping it but there's not much options when it comes to upgrading that engine. I can't get rods for this engine like i could a d16, plus i got the d16 with tranny PRETTY cheap. Thanks for the info.

Re:mini me advice
Isn't the mini me process putting a vtec head on a D block? You are starting with a vtec d15.. how is installing a d16y7 considered a mini me swap?
Sorry but I'm just used to the d16a6 plus d16z6 combo being called a traditional "mini me" |
