Wow...long sentence.

OBD2 ecus cannot be chipped, so you could use it as is, and that's it.

You'll need to get an adapter harness the goes from obd2 to obd1 if you want to run a chipped ecu, which is your best option.

Re: mini me ??

in other words i sjould just get a vtec ecu out of a like 92-95 civic ?

Re: mini me ??

Either that or a P06 and add vtec components.

hahaha....punctuation sucks huh? I'd suggest the obd1 ecu w/vtec or components to run the head and a turbo map when boosted. Its pretty simple huh....

Re: mini me ??

If you want 300 whp, building your head is a waste of money ;)

Re: mini me ??

whys that this is an every day drivin car. so ill need a good street tune thats not goin to be so crazy to reach 300hp i mean ill be going for more sooner or later and the way i was looking at it is why turbo go get tuned then a few months down the rode have to be retuned for my head ? well thats just how i was looking at it

Re: mini me ??

I've seen multiple setups make over 400 whp on the stock head, that's why I'm saying if you're just shooting for 300 then you are wasting money on building your head.

oh i see ..but still i think im going to do just for the fact of knowing theres more in there and, knowing that the head is brand new so i can trowin arp head studs while im in there and a better hg. by yeah just my .02 cents

It's pretty much a waste of time and money with a boosted setup with the goal you set. At most you can clean up the port castings a little bit, but I wouldn't go crazy. If you've never done any headwork at all, I would highly suggest NOT touching it at all...it's very easy to lose power instead of gain it by going buck-wild on the ports. It takes alot of practice, and unless you have knowledge of where to modify to make power and access to a flow bench to verify as you go, then just leave it alone. Besides, you're going to have to build your motor anyway to hit your goal, what's the 1-2psi extra at most you'd have to run to make the same gain gonna hurt? ;)

DON'T listen to slo! Just port the fucker! Bigger the better! More air = more power! ;) :y One time I ported the head so nice...that all my exhast ports became one big one! I lost a bit of hp in lower rpms but my top end was OMFG! :y

The 400 whp+ d16's Im a little um about honestly on stock top end parts. Dyno's are well not really the truth in the total sense of it all

I mean 400 whp on a stock bore b16a at 20 psi isnt that easy so how is it that a d is going to do it.

also 400 whp=10's in anything besides an integra not high 11's that seem to be the route odf these monster D's

What does that tell me there really not making that kind of power

Finally 300 whp is more than enough for 99.99999 percent of people and if you dont think it is then you havent been in a crx with that kind of power

My view is atleast upgrade the cam and run a manifold and big bore tb if your going for big #'s with the D. Hell a buddy of mine was running 12's on a small ihi probe turbo on the d15 in a fully body no cutting civic

irony it had a crower cam and some of my port work

Simple is a good flowing top end will make more power and you wont be at omg boost levels and killin turbos every couple months

Im going to bed
