Milling a6 head - Decking Block - ARP Headstuds
How much can a d16a6 head safely be milled. Conversely, how much can a block be milled safely? I've been trying to find facts, but all I'm seeing is conjecture. Can someone with experience chime in here?
On another note, is the right ARP head stud application for a d16a6 block/head the 208-4301's that say d16z6 only? |

safely milled??????
I've seen .100 total removed from the block and head combined.........safe????? It ran with a stock cam properly retimed. |
Re: Milling a6 head - Decking Block - ARP Headstuds
I've taken .075 off the deck of my a6 block to get some compression out of the vitara pistons.
As far as the real limit is concerned, I think the only things that matter are the piston to valve clearance, the cam timing change, and (if you get really crazy) room for the oil control jet. On the headstuds? I'd say check your honda dealership and see if the z6 and a6 use the same part number for head bolts. |

i beleive i had my head resurfaced about .008 ofan inchbut i didnt have my block decked, that and my set up was on a ZC DOHC. i think the ARP bolts you need are dependant on the head you use.
good luck. |
