Default Max bore for b16a2?

hello!


what is the max bore that a stock sleeve can handle (for boost\n2o or whatever...)in a b16a2 engine?

youd be lucky to stay reliable on the strock bore, you bore a stock sleeve and your gonna pay a penalty....

you can bore it out to 81mm or so if you like and still be plenty safe, but in order to bore it out enough to really gain from it, the sleeves would be too weak for boost or nitrous. a lot of people bore .5 or 1 over, but mostly just to assure a true cylinder bore as opposed to just a meatball hone job when building a motor.

Not for farced induction. Stock sleeves barely hold up to the combustion pressures as it is...

yeah, the 400-500whp that so many people are putting down these days on stock sleeves isn't much increase over stock power :P i wouldn't worry about the sleeves at all unless you plan on making over 400whp daily and beating on it a lot. i would have no worries boring .5-1mm over if you're keeping it under 300-350whp.
