manual and auto engine bays the same?

ok, i just got a 4 door 89 lx civic for 50 bucks, its gonna be my beater, i was just wondering if anyone has experiece with a manual tranny swap from auto....i have almost all the stuff, and i know what is needed parts wise, but are the engine bay mounts the same? they looks the same.......and are the axles? i think i read somewhere that the newer civic auto/manual axles were the same, whatabout the older ones? any help is appreciated guys, thanks again-adam

no difference. the only difference is in the transmission, and shifting device.

yep he's absolutely right, its cheaper to manufacture the same 'body' of the car (the holes for a manual tranny will be there just covered up) then to make two completely different bodies... especially since its a uni-body design nowadays.
