MAIN RELAY FREAKIN!! Car Bogs/ Stutters IF IT STARTS!
 

For the last 2 days my cars been screwy. Its an 88 Crx si when you turn the key to acc the main relay starts going crazy, eratic fast clicking, silence, clicking. The car will BARELY start, takes 10 tries with lots of reving to keep it alive

Then once you get drive the car bucks and jumps, you cant keep constant acceleration as itll pop and throw a fit. Let off the gas and compression brake and the car sounds perfect

Try and idle and its jumping from 300-1500 and on open downpipe that doesnt sound to hot

I thought it was jus tthe main relay so I grabbed 3 from the junkyard and they all do the same thing so I figure I have another problem.

I need help, tell me what to check and where it is

thermostat ground looks mint to, nice and tight with no movement in the wire, also disconnected the battery ground for 2 minutes and pulled the ecu fuse

Didnt do ----

I seem to get to solid good 2 second primes, the check engine light stays on the whole time, doesnt go out, the fuel pump shuts up, then the main relay goes into random buzz mode

my car was messing up like that too, the engine light would stay on and it would throw a code 6 for the tps, i messed around and too the wireloom off my harness by the thermostat and found loose connectors, once i fixed that i had no problem, check all your engine grounds as well, make sure they are touching metal to metal, my z6 turbo would trip out doing all sorts of weird ---- similar to yours, usually electrical is something simple its just a pain in the ass to find the problem.

I threw a code 7 last week!!!!! (code 7 is tps btw) but my wiring and voltage to the tPS was perfect, then I have this

ITS WAS THE DISTRIBUTOR!!!!!!!!!!

I swapped it with a shitty one I had laying around and the main relay primed like normal and the car started right up

No idea what my timing is at but Im happy my car is running

Atleast I can enjoy my roadhead now,...... I mean roadtrip

lol, honda dizzy's are dog poop eventually you'll just end up buying a DK one with a life time warrenty, i went threw about 3 used ones then finally said ---- it bought a D.K. one and haven't had a problem yet !! ;D
