Ls vtec Question Rods and pistons

I am building a ls vtec and i already put in B16a2 oil pump and water pump. I have arp head studs and all new bearings. A friend gave me a set of Pr3 rods and pistons and I know that the pistons will give me 11.7 CR but will the rods work in the block? the Pr3 rod are bigger than the ls rods from the look of it. Thanks for the help.

The PR3 and B16 stroke is different, so no, they won't work.

correct you need to use the ls rods cuz of the stroke, but you can use the b16 pistons for higher compression, but if you ever want to turbo it then use the ls pistons, but if not then use the b16 pistons, 11.7:1 c/r is high, make sure you use the best fuel you can get always, and it prolly wouldnt hurt to chip the ecu and tune it a bit, i dont know if it will be ok with out tuning, but i think it would, i would do it...

I am going to run uberdata and a wide band. Does anyone have a base map for an ls vtec with simalar mods? I have looked and can't seem to find one. thanks for all the help

start with the gsr and tune from there. just dont be an idiot and rev it like a mofo after the build before "PROPER" tuning.

With raised compression how much do i have to back off the timing?
