LS/VTEC HELP

My freind chiped his ecu on his 93 Ls and overreved it and threw some retainers. He wants to swap the head i need to know the differences between the b16 and b18c head . What would have to be done to it in terms of machine work . and if the distributor would bolt up from the non vtec to vtec head . Any help is greatly appreiciated . Thanx

to mount a b16 head on a b18 ls you need to enlarge the holes for the guide pins on the intake side.

yeah, enlarge the dowel pin holes and tap and plug the oil passage from the block to the vtec mechanism. have the head resurfaced, and a valve job is a good idea too. the b16a head is a little better for revs, and you will be able to set it up like a 93 gsr. a b18c1(gsr) head has a different intake manifold that kinda sucks, but it has a nicer combustion chamber design.

i built a lsvtec with a b16 head, and modified a gsr head for lsvtec... they both work really well.
