LS transmission

my b16 hydrolic transmission is fucked.

I have a spare LS cable transmission I wanna transfer the internals from the cable transmission to the shell of the hydrolic transmission. and also use the b16 hydro LSD in the cable tranny.
I read about people doing the opposite, but never what I want to do. is there any probem to doing this, instead of buying the adapter kit?
I will still have to take the LS tranny apart to install the LSD. so thats not the issue.
the issue is will it work?

Re: LS transmission

If the LS trans is 92-93 yes, if it's 90-91 no.

Re: LS transmission

keep ur b16 housin, and use all ls gearing. it should all fit. we jus did this backwards. all b16 gearing and diff into ls tranny case and it all went smooth. it is kinda hard. try to take all the gears out together as one. then the diff last, then put the diff in first, then the gears. the shifter ---- is kinda hard to get set back in but its possible jus takes some shimmying.

this is what wanted to know thanks!
I did a few LSD installs so I know the difficulty level of the reassemble. because I also need to transfer the LSD from the b16 final drive to the LS final drive.

Re: LS transmission

you NEED to know if its a 90-91 trans or a 92-93. they are both cable actuated, but the diff is smaller on the 90-91. the 92-93 and 94+ trannies are basically identicle
