Default Ls Rods To CTR Pistons

I am mating a set of shotpeened Ls rods to Civic Type-R pistons and have heard that I will need to grind off about 1mm of rod material from the top of the rod in between the rod and piston so that it has clearance. Does anyone know if this is true or not Thanks alot guys

how far down the sides of the small end around the wrist pin should it go?? any material taken off the direct top? Pic's Please.... Thats nuts that the new pistons will come that close to the rods. I bought a set of Nippon Racing CTR pistons which look pretty thin so I wasn't sure if I would need to or not but I believe that I might need to. Thanks again guys I appreciate all the help.

(check out my other Q about linkage)- Thanks again
