more info, like what year?
reason it was apart, what was done, where are you having issues. Oh yeah, pics not loading. |
Re: LS case was apart, now i gotta get it back together
well, the diff blew out, its a hydro LS (94 i believe). pulled it apart, to replace diff, and now trying to put it back together. the case slides on all the shift forks (it seems) but is not going all the way down, stops about 1/4 in from closing.
we are doing the snap ring as we lower the case together but still nothing. I think the bearing is not seating correctly in the housing. |
Re: LS case was apart, now i gotta get it back together
sorry, i was refering to the large housing bearing.
pics will not really be helpful, since its the bearing you can not see, as you are sliding the 2 parts of the case together. |
Re: LS case was apart, now i gotta get it back together
failure to align the tang for reverse synchro
failure to lock midway into 4th gear to align the shaft assembly so it aligns. OH YEAH, this is covered in the FSM's that are free to download, excellent resource, has taught me alot. |

figured out what doesn't line up, its not the bearing, its the SHIFT PIECE SHAFT...

Re: LS case was apart, now i gotta get it back together
1/2 way into 4th gear, it'll lock the shaft into place.
TEST FIT the case until you get the hang of it BEFORE using the RTV Ultragrey sealant. |
