i guess b20/ ls have the same head right? does that mean i can order a crv headgasket for my ls motor? because there like $20 less

Re: LS/B20 headgasket the same?

LS hg's aren't that expensive...look for the fel-pro mls gaskets from somewhere like advance auto or Vatozone. Think I picked one up for under $40.

Re: LS/B20 headgasket the same?

are those good for boost? i mean should i pick up a oem for damn near 100 or just go with the felpro? im lookin to make 250whp max this summer with this motor and a ford t3 6o/63, also thinkin about picking up some ARP studs for cheap insurance

Re: LS/B20 headgasket the same?

Go with the Fel-Pro. Federal Mogul makes it and they are a big ---- gasket, brake, and other cancer causing products company. ARP studs would safe your ass way before a headgasket sold by Honda, which is probably made by Federal Mogul anyway.

Well, I compared the fel-pro and oem honda hg's side by side and honestly I don't see any noticable difference between the two.

I run that HG on my LS-vtec at 15psi and had zero problems, its all about the deck/head surfaces

Re: LS/B20 headgasket the same?

I picked up a set of Golden Eagles instead of ARP's. From what I read it's pretty much the same process to make them, but GE's are cheaper and they recomend stock torque specs (you can go a few pounds extra if you want to) so as to not distort the bore like ARP's supposedly do. Haven't gotten to try them out though, my ls/vtec build has kinda stalled. :P

Re: LS/B20 headgasket the same?

do GE even make LS head studs? ive only seen them for teh 1.8l vtaks

Re: LS/B20 headgasket the same?

i would reuse them, but for peace of mind id like to replace them, for the fact that the tard i got the car from put a junky ass 89 LS head on 94 block, and it leaks around the head too. id like to get the block resurfaced but im to lazy to take it out the car, the head is damn near new that i picked up for it so im not worried about that side
