Default Ls with b16 rods and pistons?

I have come to understand that b16 rods will fit an ls crank. I was thinking this setup (ls motor with b16 rods and pistons) would make a nice low compression b series budget build but I cant remember ever hearing this done and was wondering why? Cr too low? Gains not worth the trouble? Using a cr calculator I found it should come out to around 8.7:1. I figure you could make 300whp a good bit safer than with the stock cr for pretty cheap since most of us have all of these parts just laying around.

Not worth it, to many people at 300hp and stock ls blocks.

would also give you a fucked up r/s ratio and piston to deck height.

Well Im just saying if you were to have an ls block laying around and some b16 pistons and rods also laying around why not? I guess it really wouldnt lower compression whole lot but 4-5 points in c/r adds a decent amount of safety basically for free if you have the parts just laying around. I guess the messed up r/s ration and piston to deck hight is the main problem which is what I was wondering. Thanks for the input.

well if your confident in doing it then do it. Has an engine builder deck height is about has important has things get in building motors. Thats all.
