lower control arm bushing removal
 

i cant get the get the sleeve out. do i need a press? cuz i sure as hell dont have one

Remove rubber with knife. Take hacksaw blade off hacksaw. Stick blade through the hole. Reattach blade to hacksaw handle. Cut a section out of the bushing. Knock the section out with a hammer and screwdriver. Knock the big piece out in a similar fashion.

Good luck putting the new one in!

that was the biggest bitch to do. i never want to do it again. i thought getting it out was, install was even harder. anyone else better have sockets, vise, big hammer. good luck

LEARN PROPANE TORCH OR USE IT ON YOURSELF

edit: i did one of these in the snow at -15c in canada and then drove ~200 miles??(300km round trip). did one side, took 2 hours including an oil change.

If your bolt is rusted stuck, you'll have to cut that obviously. "Torch" sawzall blade at medium speed.

Then torch it till the inner steel slides out, then remove rubber. Once cooled, use the above hacksaw trick. A sawzall will work, but will cut right through the cast iron LIKE BUTTER if you don't use the hacksaw for the last sliver of bushing material. I torch it because cutting that rubber sucks ass.

i tried heating it up. but the bushing was messed up beyond just popping it out. i will post pics later

Our friend andrew had to help him with his (i wasn't touching them) and then me and jt have been working on andrew's integra.

---- is serious business. The fronts are easy. The rears, omfg!

I was talking about this the other day saying if i ever had to do it again with somebody who i wasn't friends with or didn't like i'd need $300 up front. That ------- frustrating. I needed a drill, dremel, angle grinder, hacksaw, a big ------- hammer, torch and several cans of pb blaster to remove andrew's ---- off his integra. Took 5 ------- days and we've yet to get to the other side. Waiting on aftermarket control arms to come in the mail and then it's off to the hardware store to get stainless 8.8 jawns along with some lock washers b/c that honda factory ---- is garbage.
