low speed, high rpm

alright so i got my ls/vtec on the road in my eg, this is my setup

b18a block
SI head
fidanza lightened flywheel
skunk 2 throttle body
t3/t4 57 trim turbo
JE pistons 9:1
eagle rods
S80 (s4c) tranny

anyways, i will be cruising around, and if im going 55 in 5th gear, it sounds like the motor is going about 100, i dont know what it is, is it the tranny? cause it seems like i have to shift at about 2500 RPM, barely any time for the turbo to spool, ill be going 35-40 and ill have to be in 5th gear, is it cause the flywheel is too light? or the tranny? what, i dont get it at all

Re: low speed, high rpm

wtf are you talking about?

is it a noise that makes you think something is going 100mph?

Clutch is slipping and youre actually cruising at 8k. ;)

no, its not like a clink, clunk, woosh noise, its the rev of the motor noise, the motor sounds like its revving high and fast but im only at like 3k and going 55-60 in 5th

if the clutch was slipping the tach would show 8K unless its pretty fucked up

Re: low speed, high rpm

yea but if its showing 3k and you say it sounds like its going faster thats got nothing to do with the trans. you sure the tach is working right?...or maybe you are imagining things and everything is fine, which i bet is the case
