has any one ever installed a d16 rods in a d15. From the looks of it the longer rod of the d16 combined the shorter stroke of the d15 this change would result in a better rod to strock. the d16 rod is beefer at the big end also.

 

Unless you had some custom pistons to make the pin sit down shorter the D16 rods will put the D15 pistons out of the deck of the block a bit, meaning you would need to add a deck plate to the block and install new sleeves.

That was always my assumption.. Chris would probably know for sure.

btw, d16 rods are not much bigger than d15 rods.. Both toothpicks IMO.
