Default A little help identifying engines???

I am helping my cousin build a honda in Jordan. We went to look at some engines today and they have some strange engines over here or maybe its just me not used to newer D series engines. I saw a couple for d15 3 stage vtec's which are useless for turbo applications i believe. The rest of the d15 i saw had 4 injectors on them, but they have a vertical mounted throttle body. Which d15 motors are these and what are there specs. The civics over here are reffered to as Lxi and Exi and they all come with d15 none vetc motors in them. Are these engines obd1 or obd2? will they work for a swap and turbo? really confused over here the engine sellers seem to be clueless about any specs they just know if it works or not lol. any help would be appreciated.

You will need the engine code. It is located on the front on the side that connects to the tranny, on a little flat plate. Should say D15xx. Example - D15A3, D15B2, D15Z6Name: B16A03.jpg

What obd are you trying to put the motor in?

They are only stamped D15b nothing else on the motor thats why i cant figure it out. OBD 1 is what i really want so i can chip the ecu and run some sort of engine mangement. These engines are really weird i have seen plenty of honda but not these. thanks for the input

Vertical TB is d15z4, from the '96 - '00 EXi. It is obd2, but it really doesn't matter. If your chassis is obd1, just use/rewire the needed sensors. If the chassis is obd2, it will all plug up, but you will need an adapter at the ecu. Honda D series specs
