leaking oil
after my zc blew I got a minime y7/y8 swap but I used the same distributor, then my motor blew again , and I did the same swap, but oil began to leak from the distributor, I changed the seal but it is still leaking any ideas on what to do.(note- I had to mount it ghetto because it did not line up, but I did that before to). And everything is tight, is there another seal. :-\

Re:leaking oil
how do u know it is leaking from the dizy.
do u actually see oil came out from the seal or do u just see oil below it(on the tranny may be?) it could be the dizy seal, the oil pressure sensor or the HG actually leaks and oil sipping out. if it is the dizy and it still leaks after u change the o-ring, i would just seal it up with silicon after u did the timing :P. |

But that would be my guess. Good luck. |
Re:leaking oil
there are so many factors of what it could be. don't blow up another motor.

Re:leaking oil
I don't know i've only seen oil leak out of headgaskets on timing chain engines, where the timing cover uses the headgasket to seal to the head. But I guess it could leak out on the honda too.

Re:leaking oil
it leaks on the distributor side, if it was hg wont the oil get in the coolant. and the valve cover gasket is a honda oem gasket brand new.

Re:leaking oil
my crx d16a6 had a leaky headgasket, poopin oil out at the back.
a headgasket seals the cyl from coolant. it also still has to allow oil to get from the block to the head, these passages are cut out into the gasket and they can leak too. look for wet gaskets. man you drive that thing in the winter!! |
