Leakdown test

i just attempted to do a leak down test on my b18b, because im leaking oil from somewhere but my compression is still pretty good... 180 182 172 180 and that was with the engine cold.

When i went to do it, i had a significant leak out the exhaust ports, i didn't have my manifold on, so it was easy as hell to pinpoint, I tried rotating the crank a little to see if i could find a point where they sealed up but they never did, they just leaked like ------- crazy.

So
1. could that cause it to burn oil. i don't think so, but i don't know,
2. What the ---- is causing that, i only could do cylinder 1 and 3 cause it started to rain, but they where both doing the same thing..

the head was rebuilt just before i bought the engine from Smooth_Imports.. he said it had 2000miles at time of sale and iv put bout 15000 on it so were looking at a total of 17,000 miles.

Here is what was done
99’ ls
Stock Honda head gasket
3 angle valve job
New Honda valve seals
New Honda valve guides
Crower dual stage valve springs
Crower titanium retainers
New Honda valve keepers
Stock LS cams
D-1 Cam cap
Stock Honda dizzy
Stock LS intake manifold
Stock LS fuel rail
B&M Fuel pressure regulator
NGK Plugs & Wires.
Every Seal And Gasket was replaced with True Honda parts
All sensors are in working condition
Head was assembled by Proformance Unlimited

just trying to figure out what the ---- is up with this thing

Re: Leakdown test

well since your exhaust valves aren't closing completely

-could be something simple like your vavle lash is too tight, check them with a feeler gage per the manual. it's a little tedious but simple as hell.

-could be your seats are a little bitched up

-could be your vavles got bent, this could be causing some oil burning if the bent valve ruined the guides and seals.

did you doublecheck cam timing? if the cams are out then when your crank shows tdc your cams could still be holding the valves open.
