ok, so the teg got a "new" gay dee em engine because the old engines rings went cuz of the turbo(it was fun while it lasted) so i put about 1000 miles on the new engine when it decided to knock on my way home from work, at 3am. so i park the thing and let it sit for about a month, ive been busy with school and ----. so i checked the t-belt, wanted to make sure it hadnt skipped a tooth or something, that checked out. so today i dropped the oil pan to look for metal scrapings or something, yeah i found nothing. the knock is no longer a knock tho, when i turned it on, it sounded more like a grinding noise. im sure this engine is done, but why? dud? i just got unlucky? that damn thing was stock! eh so now i have two engines, guess ill rebuild one for DD, until i build the other one to have some fun. and this is the 2nd time i write this, damn board refreshes it self. and some ****

are you sure its not the a valve/s...had it knocking before but then looked closer and it was a valve.

 

i should take the head off, if thats the case and it is, and the pistons are fine, i could swap my old head

Low oil pressure and engine is fucked. JDM swaps always scare me b/c of the price and how they can suck just as much as any other USDM motor.

 

what would cause the low oil pressure? had plenty of oil
