Default Knife Edging

Can someone let me know what are the Cons or drawbacks of grinding (or knife-edging) a crankshaft? Im aware of its benefits.

Knife edging helps the crank "cut" through the oil spray, as well as lighten it. Honestly don't see much use for it on a daily driver, and if done to a stock crank will probably weaken it because you're destroying the factory hardening, not to mention you have to have it rebalanced afterwards.

All motor build some swear by it. Many builders especially the so cal all motor junkies almost all run them but to get one done and balanced is well pricey for hmt terms and for a turbo build isnt needed. Great thing about turbo's just tune and add more boost
