kinda off the hmt subject

this isnt really a question bout performance....but it has to do with my crx. my question is....how often do your cars get broken into or stolen in your area....cause this last thursday night someone busted out my passenger window.....tried to steal it but i heard a noise outside so i went on my porch and turned on the light, well all in all they just pulled my E-brake and let it roll into a ditch causing me a full wasted day off friday trying to find the passenger door glass and a front bumper at a junkyard...i ended up not finding either...no 2g crx's anywhere at junkyards..and the ones that are there....they have been stripped more than a french -----. i ended up getting a front bumper this morning after i got off work from the classified paper, some guy in the country was parting out his rex so i got the bumper for 30 bucks and i had to buy the glass new but got it for 70 bucks and i put them both on myself. but how is the crime wave against crx's and other cars out ur everyone else's area......funny thing is this house has been in my family for 36 years and my car is the first to get broken into in that 36 yr period of all the cars on this block....go figure..

I got a loud ass alarm that you can here for a few blocks so it helps good...Park in the front of stores that way there might be some people that know what they look like or what they drove if there was a break in.

Re:kinda off the hmt subject

lol never had a car broken into or stolen or damaged in any way... guess i'm lucky. but one day in LONGVIEW washington, after a morning baseball workout, i stopped at a gas station to get a coke, and left my car running, when i came out this mexican old guy was about to open the door and get in, but i walked around the corner and he looked at me and started walking away fast. so i got in and drove along side of him giving him squinty eyes. for about 100 yards rofl. thats the closest i've came, i always used to leave the keys in my old truck 1980 sierra classic, didn't really care lol.

get yourself a pistol, best protection i can think of... lol

ooooh teach me how to pop the locks in my civic. I am so naive yet eager to learn! I keep a spare key in my wallet just in case, but it'd be nice to know how to pop my locks just in case. Do you just slip something (coat hanger) down into the door panel and pull up on the rod that connects to the latch? show me your ways, Obi-Wan....

Re:kinda off the hmt subject

easiest way is to pull the doorback slightly with a screwdriver and reach in with a coat hanger and pull on the handle or the lock

J-SMITH69 02-24-2003 11:58 PM

Re:kinda off the hmt subject

its really easy to use a coat hanger, and move it around directly underneath the door handle, after a while you're grab the right part and it will unlock

Re:kinda off the hmt subject

sweet, now I can get into my car when it's locked, as well as steal cars Nicholas Cage style!

Re:kinda off the hmt subject

ok guys, let me give you the run down.

you know those black tabs that are along the window track?(on the outside of the door. one per door.) bend it up(it will bend back) out of the way. then take a screw driver, a key, anything thin but strong, to pry the window out 1/2 an inch. the windows on most hondas(85-2003 civics/accords/preludes) will flex a good 7-9 inches. just enough room to put your arm inside. flex or "peel" the window out, reach in and unlock the door. i can do it in 15 seconds. im never locked out of my car.

personally, i've never had anyone break into my rex, but ive only had it for a year. My dad had blackouts on the tail lights of his 82 camaro ( i know, i know, i told him never again) but someone stole them off the car!! Then my other friend has a VW Jetta and some1 stole the side markers off his car! Another friend got his 1999 SiR stole right out of his driveway overnight. So I guess its pretty bad around here. I live in Brampton ON, Canada, near toronto.

slim jim-ing a honda takes about 2 seconds, so opening is pretty easy..

I have had a few cars stolen throughout the years... :(

I wish they had slim-jimed my car. As you can see, the dumbasses chose to break out my hatch window, climb over my slicks, and my strut tower bar (my interior was gutted) to the front seats. This is where they proceeded in kicking in the center console vents, breaking a chunk of the dash off, only to find that I hadn't put the locking brace on my radio and they just had to reach down and pull it out. Then, upon exiting my vehicle, this would be where they realized I had left the driver's side ------- door unlocked!!! The bastards could have just opened it and saved me poor hatch!! >:(

91.. As for Crimedotte County, I grew up at 72nd and Parallel. :o Needless to say, I don't go there anymore.

I used to.. but I'm not going to go there this season until I'm hitting 14 flat at least on my single cam.

My buddy Chuong is/was up there all the time.. He drives an EF9 as well, maroon, with GSR wheels and a JRSC'd Y7/Y8 block/head Mini. Ran 13.8 at Mo-Kan with a stock clutch, and some lame header. He's got ACT clutch (Stage 2 equiv I think) and a Kamakazi header.. Maybe he'll hit mid 13's in KC this season.

Re:kinda off the hmt subject

Ya that's him. He rapes that Roush up and down every time. The guy (The roush) is a tool. I was only .3 seconds behind his ass all motor with my Mini. Everyone laugh at him at KCIR.. It was hiarlous..

I plan on some massive kills with the help of this forum, and Ghettodyne. ;D

Yeah I live in Longview and you have to watch out for mexicans around here. I don't speak spanish and I swear every ------- gas station worker in this crappy town is a mexican. They need to learn how to speak english because I haven't got a clue what the hell they are trying to say... Just give me my change bitch and shut hell up! >:(

Luckily my car has not been broken into yet... I have a few friends that have had ---- stolen from there cars though. If I ever catch somebody trying break into my car they are either getting shot or beat with my sand wedge.

My ---- has gotten stolen countless times.

The worst had to be when I lost 150+ CD's, two pairs of $150 sunglasses, EQ from my glove box and a mutli colored(more expensive) detachable face plate for the stereo. They didn't take the rest of the radio which is worthless. This all happened because my friend forgot to roll up the window and lock the door when he was in my car.
I hate buying CD's that I already owned.

Next time my ---- gets broken into I have a feeling the car will be going :'(

It's too dam cold(10F)to hook up a fuel pump kill switch.

My friend's Jeep driver side front window got stuck down so he put saran wrap over it and had all his cd's stolen, and they tried to take his stereo but it has little locky thingys. They left his Oakleys and his sub though.....Oh this happened in front on my house too :-\

I saw a Roush Mustang this summer while I was at William Jewel College for this choir thingy; it was cool. My Mom grew up there so every couple years or so we go there to see friends and stuff - next time I go I'll have to get together with some HMT guys.

If you guys think you have a Mexican problem, we (white people) are the minority in my county, IN COLORADO! Why they come here, I don't know but I do know it's funny to see them with their lowrider Accords and 4g civic 4drs thinking they're fast.

alright people...i gotta say this...even though im hispanic...im not mexican...just spanish....but i find it funny as ---- when i see 10 beaners up in small ass car or when u see there chevy trucks with that cowboy conversion body kit on it and the lights all over the place and a crap load of crazy stickers on the back window...it crax me up....sorry sqwirlycivic but i have to agree bout the 4dr civic comment cause i seen a 4dr 88-91 civic on the highway the other day and it had a body kit on it that made it look boxy....it had altezza tails on it....the h.i.d. blue headlights on it and it was painted purple...and the thing had beats in it....also had 99 civic SI rims on it too...it was like 3 inches from the ground too....and like 4 mexicans in the back and 3 up front.....sorry but it looked funny....oh well

anyone consider putting a hidden switch in the ignition line? Or having a switch that keeps fuel from pumping... lol. Just remove the ECU fuse or some crap :)

That may help you from getting your car stolen, but I dunno about break-ins. Get an alarm ( a real one).

My car got broken in ones.
This is a funny one.

My brother blew up the poor Rex's ZC engine so we got a new one.
It car layed in front of a friends house ready to get the new engine transplanted in...so the engine bay was empty got my sound system out left the radio in withiut the face :o..forgot that one.
So the next day I go to his house and I see that they fucked up the key hole those ass holes...opened the ---- with a screw driver. They didn't take anything..cause there was nothing in the car hahahah they surely must have felt like dumb asses...I found my hood open... I laighed so hard man. Imagine this you stealing a car and you're trying to start that fucker up and nothing happens so you go open up the hood and it's empty except for the radiator and some wires...hahahahahha Best way to go 100% theft proof.. get all the ---- out of your car including the engine hahahahaha
