ok, one other question, will the starter, distributor and alternator from my 92-95 civic dx motor bolt up to the d15b vtec?

Re:jdm d15b vtec

the JDM motor is the D16, with a more agressive cam.--and at a cheaper price. it will work.--

Starter yes..
alternator yes..
distributor no..

Stock civic dx is a d15b7 and has different mount locations on the distributor than a Vtec head so it wont mount down. But if you made some goofy mounts it will work. (I've done it myself)

your d15b7 distributor will work with the same modifications to fit an OBD0 distributor onto a z6 head. the top and front mount "ears" need to be slotted "towards the front". If thats teh only distributor you have, stick it on there and you'll see what i mean.

Re:jdm d15b vtec

i put d15b Vtec motor in my car..
88 civic DX 4 speed

all i had to change was the Engine side motor mount. ( obd1 and obd0 are diffrent in some cases this is one ) the part that is diffrent is the mount part that bolts to the Chassis the 2 bolt holes that bolt to the engine are the Same. so if you doing JDM VTI (d15b vtech in obd0 engine use the old engine side mount and remove stock mount on the D15b vtec motor. if your car is OBd1 and about you can still use the D15b vtech mount.. if not use the old one of your tired,Broke, weak, usless, USDM engine.

dizzy is Obd1
Ecu you can use is obd1 with Vtec.
P78 re chipped ( with Knock turned off, fuel, spark curves reprogrammed
p30 rechipped ( same as above)
p08 No change just don't wire Evap this is Stock Ecu for this motor ( same as p30 minuse Knock board and programming for Twin Cam)
p28 USDM Vtech Ecu has Evap just need to be reprogram to make better use of the Engines natrual Rev Range ( 8000RPM)
P06 DX ecu will work with Vtec controller and little addition of chipping to make rev cut little higher

the start on the 88 went right in no problems

i used the Old 88 engine Fly wheelclutch and pressure plate
( i knew they worked ) fly wheels are excatly the same bolt pattern Amount of Teeth..etc etc..

every thing else except the MAP in this case MAp is Diffrent ( mounted on throttle body on the JDM engine and not the Fire wall )
