Installing new headgasket soon.....have a few questions

I have never done one before so any helpful hints is appreciated. First would it be easier to leave intake mani on or off? Second what's the best way to remove the old headgaket, I'm assuming it's going to be stuck on the block? Thanks ;)

If you have a friend that is mechanically inclined, enlist his services. At very least if you are going to tear into an engine, get a service manual. It will tell you what you need to do, and waht order you need to do it. People here seem to like taking things apart and puttin them back together, so you might fiind someone that lives close to help you. One way to make new friends as well ;D

Just take the bolts off for the intake manifold and move it back towards the firewall. No need to completely remove it.

The gasket should come right off with a little effort. You're going to want to clean the deck surface very good to get a nice seal. I would take the head to a machine shop and have them surface it. It's only like ~$15-20.
