Idling Problems!!!
okay my 88si Rex has been idling pretty shitty lately so I decide to play with the idle screw, nothing!!, fuel cleaner, nothing!!, found that the accelerator cable was kinda loose, so I loosing the2 nuts holdin' it in place pulled on the cable until it was proper, but here comes the problem everytime I go to tighten the 2 nuts. back down goes the idle

I am sure your problem is right in front of your face. Tighten your throttle cable, and make sure its not incredibly tight, there should be some deflection on the cable, 5mm or so. As I read in your above post, you said you have been playing with your timing, this will also change your idle speed, if you advance it, it will raise the idle slightly. And you also should be able to get atleast 4-500rpms of adjustment off your idle air screw on your t-body.
btw, dont try to increase your idle with your throttle cable. Jeff |

does it idle from like 1 to 2 grand irratically? because on my b18 i had and idling problem i dont know if its the same but there is a motor or valve of some type on the back of the intake manifold its held in w/ like 2 bolts and has a line that runs to it that has antifreeze in it i took it off found one at a junk yard (wish i could remember what the part was called) but i replaced it and it fixed it try it and let me know if it works.

Jeff, the 3 screws that I suppose to loosing is it the ones holding the distributor cap?

if your idling is jumping slightly you may need to change out the throttle position sensor on the back of your intake manifold.

no my problem is that the car has been idling low, and everytime the A/C fan comes on the car's idling goes down solow that the car actually feels like it's about to cut off, but doesn't, and it's also causing slow acceleration for me in 3rd, and 4th. I check the whole entire engine, and transmission I'm not leaking, or anything of that nature. But I could tell you this all started after I changed the ignition coil. I think it's the timing, I wonna do the whole timing belt, water pump change thing but I'm not that mechanically incline. and money's kinda tight lately

Seriously bobby, you need to get a book, because it doesnt sound like you are very experienced with this stuff.
To adjust timing, you loosen the 3 12mm bolts that hold the distributor in place, NOT the distributor cap. Jeff |
