IACV problem HELP!!
I've just recently done a mini me on my d16y7, but im having problem with the IACV, i know about the wire change to connect to the new one on the Z6 mani but im still getting codes, IS THERE ANYONE WHO HAS DONE THIS EXACT SAME SWAP d16y7 block and changed the head to a Z6 with plenum mani..... I already know about the IACV fix, but it still giving me #14 error code, so in order to make things simple i instead reused the original throttle body with the same IACV, but im still getting the same error even thought i pu all wire back to the original possition the only thing i cant think of is that the conection to the cpu is somehow not getting contact from the pins, is there any way of making sure its touching both pins without sqweezing the hell out of the connector???? thanks __________________ |
Re: IACV problem HELP!!
First off you would need a 2 wire IAC ecu. Do you have that? OBDII would be a P2P.

Re: IACV problem HELP!!
no i have a p2e, but im reusing the original IACV, i swap the throttle bodies
and it still doesnt work ::) im using a vafc for vtec and the plugs are stock could i have fucked up the conection, because when i move the wires abit it goes on, and sounds like it works can i remove the wire connection and just use the wire inside the harness connector??? |
Re: IACV problem HELP!!
You do realize that the ECU you have won't activate your VTEC right?
|
Re: IACV problem HELP!!
we got the vafc for the vtec
everything is hooked up right is it ok if we have the z6 iacv in also, but not connected? the unconnected z6 iacv is heating up like crazy |
Re: IACV problem HELP!!
You have to plug the inlet hole on the Z6 IACV if you are running the Y7 TB.
I mean the inlet hole in the manifold, not the coolant passage. |
Re: IACV problem HELP!!
ok so now, i removed the coolant lines from the iacv on the manifold and pluged them directly onto the one on the throttlebody
now all i have to do is plug those 2holes on the manifold where the iacv is and im done....i wont read anymore codes? |
Re: IACV problem HELP!!
You shouldn't unless you have a wire fucked up some where. Make sure you remove the battery cable to clear the codes.

Re: IACV problem HELP!!
yeah the battery was disconected
ok i pluged the holes from the iacv on the manifold, so now it should run to the iacv on the throttle body only but do you think its because i had cut the wires that it isnt going off... beacuse at first i tryed doing that iacv fix found online from 3 wire two 2, only after i realized it only works with a vtec ecu, so i put the original 3 wire back on...and solderd them...do you think maybe if the solderiong job wasnt done corectly that could be the problem??? |
Re: IACV problem HELP!!
Could be. Did you move the wires back on the ECU harness too?
