iacv buzzing noise??????

i have a 96 civic hatch cx with a d16y7 and im converting my car to obd1 for tuning purposes. i put a 90 civic si intake manifold because i needed the 2 wire iacv. and when i turn the key to the on position there is a loud buzzing noise coming from the iacv. i have no idea why it is doing this. i have done all the proper wiring, and changed the pins on the ecu harness. i have a check engine light but i dont know what its for. and i cant figure out how to jump 2 wires so the cel light blinks. when i connect the 2 wires on the little blue plug by the ecu the SRS light comes on. i have all the sensors and stuff that i unplugged, plugged back in. so could the CEL be because of the iacv buzzing? is it bad?

also the car idles at about 1900 and revs up and down a little bit. and i tried driving it and its like i dont even have to press the gas. i dont know whats wrong. help. please.

1. Sell the car
2. Go to walmart
3. Buy a Huffy with a Barbie basket on the front and those awesome spoke beads

I think you may have 2 plugs switched around, the iacv and there's another purge valve or some ---- just to the right of the iacv on the backside of the manifold the plugs are the same so it can be easy to get them mixed up. I had this same problem, switched the wires around and it worked like a champ.

If this doesn't work, then chances are your ecu is acting up. I had the same problem, but I checked my soldering joints over and cleaned them, worked fine after that.
I am assuming that you have a chipped ecu??

Huh??
Is that supposed to be an insult or something? If it is, well blow me, nobody likes you.
Regardless, it will be replaced with the HX-35 I picked up last week anyhow.

dude shut the ---- up. Nobody cares about you gaybody 93 ok?

Are you sure the sensors on the intake manifold will work OBD1? you said it was off a 90. I'm not sure but are the sensors and IACV the same as OBD1 stuff?

I'd check for the two plugs being switched. Or maybe the ECU is ----, or a bad pin. It could be a lot of things

It shouldn't matter which wire goes to what on the iacv, all it is is a solenoid that moves a plunger inside the iacv itself. More than likely if it's buzzing it's probably stuck or gunked up from oil getting sucked through. Try taking some brake cleaner or carb cleaner through it and hook it up straight to the battery...it should make an audible click and the plunger should move freely.

have you checked for a ground wire cause most certainly if you didnt connect a ground wire the car will not start and the symptoms u just said seem to be the action of a unconnected ground do you go to turn ur car to the on position and hear multiple clicks real fast and the check engine light is on and all it does is crank but not start if so i say check the ground wire on you engine harness by the thermostat
