I have an 88 hatch with a zc. I have a auto meter oil pressure gauge and at about 3700 rpm it finaly reaches 50 psi. I bought the car with the motor already in it and he said he rebuilt it 60k miles ago. I'm thinking there is too loose of clearance in the bearings? What do you think? I also use 10w-40.

50psi sounds ok to me.

maybe use 10w30 next oil change?

My manual says for sohc's it should be 50 psi at 3k. So I thought it should be the same.

It is hard to tell what it is at idle by the gauge but it is probably 8 or 10 psi.
