I need to richen my mixture
I have a 91 crx with an aftermarket intake and a straight exhaust (no cat, no muffler, pipe ends halfway to the back) so I am getting alot of airflow but no gas to balance out the mixture. Im a pizza delivery guy too, so I have alot of engine starts and stops and after I get things heated up and try to start it again, it sometimes doesn't want to. I feel like a total jackass sitting outside somebodies house for a minute of two tring to start this loud *** thing
only doing it when it's hot? if so, check your starter. once then engine warms up, the compression and clamping forced on the pistons raise, making it harder to turn fast enough to start. just a thought, this happen on my truck and my cougar.
alright, the starter and battery have been checked, but its still doing it. I know that its the mixture. my buddy told me that there was some sort wire I could disconnect that would intantly make it rich. is he fullachit or am i just a moron
i'm not overly convinved it's your mixture... if it's running lean enough to not start, then it would run rough as hell (if at all) all the time, and your motor would have about a 2 month life span. good luck finding the solution, and i hope you figure it out before your engine pops.
Yes, your friend is full of ----
What does it do when you try to start it? Does it crank slow, or does it crank like a mo fo and just not start?
An intake and a "cut off" exhaust will not cause it to run lean and not start. You have some other problem.

Some time ago my friend had a proble, that when the car would get hot it would shut off and it would have hard time starting back up, he checked it out with some mechanic. There was some bulshit in the distributor that wouldnt work right wnen hot, anyways he changed the distributor and his poblem went away
