I need help

I bought some Je/Eagles, used for a B16.

I have both a b16 bottom end and complete LS, along with LS tranny.

Should I sell the Eagles and buy LS rods, or should I throw the LS head on the B16, crank the boost and hope for the best? I think B16 non-vtec may actually equal a street car with decent traction due to no torque + long gears, but I dunno, never seen/heard of anything like it.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions other than what I've stated are welcome. If in doubt, post pr0n.

Vehicle weight, turbo, target power level (peak and lowboost)?

there have been a few b16/ls's built on honda-tech. They don't make much power but they have more bottom end than a stk b16.

they didn't build them for the numbers, they built them to be different.

2200 pounds, Hy35, 300whp daily and whatever pumpgas maxes out at at the races.

You'll spool the turbo enough to make a broad powerband.

I don't see any problem making 300 whp worth of flow on an LS head, and the forgings in the bottom end guarantee the bottom can hold it.

A local dude may have B18 rods to trade me for my B16 ones. If he agrees to it, it'll be a straight LS engine.

If it's more of a street runner, I'd say stick to the b16 block. The LS bottom will put down a ---- ton of torque when you start hitting into boost hard...which is impressive to your friends as you roast tires all over the place, but not when you're losing a run against an n/a car that grabs and goes. In my personal experience with both a boosted LS and a boosted b16, I'd take the b16 for street use any day. Only downside is the torque curve appears more on the higher rpm, and with an LS head you probably won't reach the greatest torque potential just due to the simple fact that the LS head will limit the rpm you can run to. You can port out and cam a LS head to flow just as much as the vtec head, but rpm's still kill you. :-\

That's what I was thinking as well, I'll probably throw a set of cams+springs in the LS head no matter what.
