how to remove PCV valve in 1st gen B16A?
I broke the little plasic elbow on mine today, and can't figure out how to remove it... it turns freely but won't pull out. Is there a retaining clip on the underside that I'm not seeing or something?
I read in the service manual how to test it, but not how to remove. If they don't think instructions are needed, I must be missing something really simple. Thanks. |

They like to glue themselves after a while. Same thing happened on my 240k mile d15z1. I ended up just breaking it to lots of pieces with a wrench I was yanking on it with. You could try soaking it with some PB Blaster, maybe it'll make a difference and it won't break when you pull on it.
Just about every PCV valve in a Honda I've ever tried to remove broke. Probably a 80% chance of breaking it before it comes out. |

Thanks, I'll just keep working with it then. I've already broken it a lot, the plastic is very brittle.

I've seen them with a 1 or 2 peice design sometimes the top piece breaks off, just pull on it with a needle nose it will come out.
