Re:how do i install a fuel pressure regulator ?
you just undo the two bolts that are on the stock fpr, unhook the fuel return line from the bottom of the stock fpr, unhook the vacuum line on top of the fpr, then put the new one in and hook the fuel return and vacuum line back up.

Re:how do i install a fuel pressure regulator ?
The B&M FPR might require you to cut the top off of your old one.

Re:how do i install a fuel pressure regulator ?
oh yeah, you're gonna want to relieve your fuel pressure before you remove the old one, or anyting to do with fuel components for that matter, just loosen the banjo bolt on top of you fuel filter and it will let the fuel pressure out. ALWAYS SMOKE CIGGARETTES WHILE WORKING ON YOUR FUEL SYSTEM!!

Re:how do i install a fuel pressure regulator ?

Re:how do i install a fuel pressure regulator ?
if you're na, you actually want to take as much fuel as possible out, not add fuel. want to run a little closer to lean, just start lowering the pressure a little at a time and take it for a test ride (be sure to romp it), if you don't hear detonation/pinging, then lower it some more, keep doing this until you hear pinging, then add a little bit, and you'll be right on the edge. also pull your plugs and read them, lighter/whitish = lean, dark = rich.
|
Re:how do i install a fuel pressure regulator ?
cool thanks did you send them back ? if i change the lenght of the hoses (vacum) does that affect anything ? so leaner is better whats a ping or knocking sound like ? when the car sputters ?
|
Re:how do i install a fuel pressure regulator ?
no, i'm stopping by the post office today, i've been busy as ----. detonation/pinging occurs when you run too lean, you'll know it when you hear it, then you need to add some more fuel. the car won't sputter, that's what happens when you're running rich, kind of bogs.

Re:how do i install a fuel pressure regulator ?
do i get more hp from the fpr ? i doubt its a lot like 5 hp ? when i put on the turbo i need to run rich correct ?
|
Re:how do i install a fuel pressure regulator ?
the fpr is not sufficient for a turbo setup
|
Re:how do i install a fuel pressure regulator ?
im going with 6psi of boost on the turbo so i at least need a fmu ? anything else better that wont cost me an arm and a leg to buy ?
|
Re:how do i install a fuel pressure regulator ?
