stamped on head above exhaust manifold?

 

if its a JDM motor they all say b16a.

on the front of the block look for a stamped nuumber beside exhaust ports. I think there is a stamped year there.

 

isnt the "vtec" bigger than the "dohc" on the valve cover?

 

I just thought of something, you can't check the distributor for obd-ness because there was no obd2 in japan, I guess you just have to check what those other people said.

 

Ok, ESSE, they did have OBD2 in japan genius. And I found out on another message board that you can just look at the injector plug wires and the connectors are square on OBD1 and more oval on OBD2. I have checked this and found it to be true. Thanks.

 

somebody sounds bitter. and if there was an obd2 in japan then I've been lied to.

 

then whats obd0 ? :P

 

OBD0 has milky looking connector plugs all over the motor and it says PGM-FI on the intake manifold.

 

some obd1 say PGM-FI on the i.m. also
