i believe a horn is a very simple device...worrst case you could just run a 12v line to ur horn that uses the buttons as a switch

the little metal piece you are referring to is called a shoe horn. its on cars that have a steering wheel with no airbags or cruise control...you need it to install the SiR steering wheel. it should always be contacting the back metal plate of the steering wheel. if its causing the horn to go off...id say the problem lies with the wiring or switch in in the steering wheel. any pictures of what you have exactly? hope this helps.

the link helps a little, but i'm not sure if it's b/c of the wiring or switch...i already installing the steering wheel on but if that shoe horn touches the back metal peice or anything metal, the horn will go off forever until i take out the fuse...plus i haven't even connect any wires from the buttons yet, i just used some electric tape to tape the shoe horn so it doesn't touch any metal and so it won't go off for now....
