Hooked up my radiator fan to a toggle switch now spinning backwards???
i just re connected my radiator fan, the male plug for the fan is cut off so i cut off the female plug on the fan so i can hook it up. The problem is i think the fan is spinning backwards (pushing air toward the tranny) ??? and after driving with it on for about 5 mins, i opened the hood and it smells funky.. I have the blue/white wire connected to one prong on a toggle switch and the other prong wired to an unused fuse (number 3) and i grounded the black wire from the fan. what did i do wrong?

Re: Hooked up my radiator fan to a toggle switch now spinning backwards???
on my slim fan i had to ground the blue wire and put power to the black to make it a puller fan. the other way its a pusher

um.. pulling air towards your tranny, as in pulling it through the rad? thats the correct air flow isn't it?

Re: Hooked up my radiator fan to a toggle switch now spinning backwards???
yeah man, i dont know bout the funky smell.. but if the air flow is towards the engine/tranny.. thats the correct way.. doesnt make sense to be driving down the road and have the air flowing towards your car.. and have the fan blow it back now does it.. if the air is going towards the tranny.. thats correct.. better check your connections for the funky smell though..
