I swapped my 88 crx si to a b16a1 bit the hood rests on the drivers side of the valve cover. Anybody had the problem? im using hasport mounts anyway to fix this?

sonny had this prob with his D16A1 into his 87 crx. he had to add a few washers to the motor mount ot get it to drop. here's the link:

happens with bseries swaps. It hits a bump in the hood where the cam sprocket cover is. You can either take the cover off (risk hitting the timing belt with debris) or you can cut away the under side of the hood support braces.

Never heard about rubbing with a b16 using hasport mounts I guess you could cut the webs out of the hood.

i like the hood scoop idea...but if u wanna b cheap like most of us here then just cut out the ribs in that area of the hood....if you want you could get an eclipse/talon hood and cut out the "bump" in the hood and cut out a hole in ur hood and have the "bump" welded onto ur good then repaint it...i did that with mine and it looks good...never even could tell that it was homemade...looks factory

it's number 5 of the last group called "it's ALIVE". It doesn't say much about it, just that he needed to add washers to lower it.
