well i was replaceing the hood latch on my civic earlier in the week and in the process broke the plastic retaining tab for the cable that goes into it

didnt think about it and let the hood close, and obviously now cant get it open

anyone know how i can get it open without majorly fubaring anything? and any ways i can get it to open without replaceing the cable?

Taking off the bumper makes it easy on ED chassis.

you have to have the hood open to take off an EG bumper, or most honda bumpers for that matter unless you want to rip the mounting bolt holes in the front

last time I got a hood of a honda open with a fucked cable I spent the evening in the ER, cut all four fingers to the bone even cut the bone, bleed throught the shirt I had and was running on the floor. I finally just left after saiting for 4 hours and went to the pharmacy and bought some giant bandaids :P

what car is this on? If its the 88-91 crx, pull the turn sigs. out get an extention, an undo you 2 bolts on each side and pull your metal bumper with the plastic bumper still on it, after you undo your markes and wheel well screws.

i'll see if i can reach it, i have really big hands though so makes small spaces difficult lol
