Default home made cold air intake?

This is the home of the masters(doityourselfers), my question is this: if i drill a hole on the passenger side front wheel well(where stock airbox and battery sit)And use a k&n air filter hooked up to a dryer vent, will it function like a aem or iceman cold air intake? i plan to use a 3-4 in diameter vent.

It would technically be a cold air intake since it would be sucking in colder air from the fender area. But the dryer vent pipe wouldn't be the most efficient to flow the air through, not to mention it's going to be ugly :P

no, the filter wont be sticking out of the engine bay. 91AccordLX, why would'nt the dryer vent pipe wouldn't be the most efficient to flow the air through?

i dont care if its ugly, its my car, and if i can make a cold air intake for $25, i'm gonna do it.

---- that, use PVC pipe, you'll do it with $15, I bought an AEM CAI used for $20, but one of my friend did his with pvc on a 91 Accord, it's been there for months, works fine. He had the pipes laying around in his garage, got a couple of elbows and did for like $5.00.
