Holy engine temp gauge batman!
What are some things to look for if my car is overheating? I pretty sure my headgasket is going, could that be a issue? I just say that because there's little black chunks floating in my overflow tank, and it's been filling up quite a bit lately, but today it only took about 3-5 minutes of city driving and it's relatively cool today around lower 60's. Help please! I've got another head gasket or could it be the thermostat and it's stuck closed? Help. I just called into work so now I've got a 3 day weekend to figure this one out. Anyone from WI interested in help changing a headgasket or doing a swap?

if your rad fluid is blackish greenish brown coloured then its the head gasket. Try completely removing the T-stat so its flows all the time.. that might help it. or even fix it if the tstat is toast.

I've some people gutting out there t-stats but wasn't sure if it would harm anything. Currently I just have my fans wired to a toggle switch. How do you tell if the water pump is SOL? The engine was completely rebuilt last spring, could it of gone out that soon? Also it's not leaking anywhere cause I check for the water pump and it's not leaking. I'd have to say though the spoon rad. cap held it's own for how hot it was and didn't open up.

Not yet, my homemadeturbo kit is coming next week. So I want to get my cooling prob fix before I even attempt that, and adding more heat. Gonna go by a low temp t-stat tomorrow since I'll be boosting in a couple of weeks. cross my fingers cause this my first turbo build up beside my old 86 Saab 9000 turbo. , but that doesn't really count since that already came boosted. Will post my results tomorrow and I'm hopping that it's just that and not the waterpump since those things are simple but such a pain in the **** with those damn crank pulley bolts. Crossing fingers.

Well so far so good. Just changed the t-stat with the low temp one. Just waiting on a new zc head since the head I have now is more suited for n/a being shaved and the cc welded. I could use the head but I'd say give it a day and it'd be done. Found a hks 2.7mm headgasket but for like 300 bucks, nah I can get a zc head for 100 and just use a stock gasket. Didn't even wanna mess around with stacking gaskets since it would just bring problems down the road. Let you know how my turbo'd zc crx turns out in about two weeks once I get my other head.
