hmt diagnostic fuel pressure guage
well im too lazy/tired to redo the mspaint but ill redo it later on with better pictures of the damn thing
basically took a stock fuel line that goes from the fuel filter to the dampner and cut.. and shoved a barbed T fitting into it and put on a guage..
i do NOT plan to run this.. it planned use was diagnostic only.. the last thing i want is for this thing to come off while driving and have the car catch fire.. but in a controlled enviroment i figured why the ---- not?
maybe id feel safer about running it if i had bothered to get a real 5/16th T fitting
instead i went to home depot and picked up a 1/4inch T fitting
basically went to the jy and got 2 fuel lines.. cut one of them closer to the fuel filter.. and one of em closer to the fuel rail.. so i can have longer hose..
shoved it into the 1/4 inch T fitting hose clamped the bitch shut.. whammo worked like a charm..
heres the link to the PRESSURE GUAGE
http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/...ctId=100111543
first thing i did was turn the key to prime the pump and checked for links.. a good 2 minutes.. held at 50psi just fine..
turned the car on and kept looking everything over.. seems like ittd hold fine as a permanent thing but i not even buk trusts buk.
i kept one of these on hand just incase
shitty picture of the setup
turn the key on and the fuel pump primes up to 50 psi (but for some reson my fuel pump never stops priming..)
turn the car on and the fuel pressure settles in at 40psi
rev the car and the fuel pressure drops
rev it higher and fuel pressure nearly cuts out.. car almost dies... 10psi.. ive managed to get it lower..
so bad fuel pump?

Good diagnostics, grasshopper. Good job.

Re: hmt diagnostic fuel pressure guage
I'd do it empirically.
Monitor FP with engine idling. Should be ~38 with vacuum line connected, ~41 with it hooked up. If your gauge is a psi or two off don't freak, but it beeds to change as the pressure on the vacuum port changes.
99% chance it's fuel pump tho.
