If you to the real interest in traction bars post you will see the one I'm making and selling.

Mine are 1" Mild Steel w/1/8" wall or 2x1. It's only 1.15 CAN a foot or 2.25CAN, were as SS is about $10-11/ft USD. Stainless is cool to if you have the equipment to weld it.

Helm joints. I use 1/2-20, as do most guys. I see no need for metric, but if you want to spend 3 more dollars, sure.

My bars take appx. 6ft of material. But again it depends on what style you are making.

Yeah 1/2-20 is best. That way you can find LH and RH thread stuff at the local hardware store.

Here are the 88-91 Designs I'm working with.
The 2x1 bar is the one I made for myself. I had 1x1 left over so weirracing used 1x1 and it worked for him.

I will be using 4 helm joints(2lh, 2rh for ease of adjustment.) Any intrests?

I have been tossing the idea of a full race design like CSaddicts but I had these materials because the accidentally came with a shipment at work. Also looking into going into the bolthole design like jimfab's but I have to look for materials for those.

P.S. They will have d-series front motor mounts(when my motor goes back in to do measurements). A b-series could be made available soon(When my friends CRX-b16 is ready).

Hopefully I can find something like this at a supplier becauce when using only a chop saw and a drill(drill press is broken currently) It takes a while to make an end. But I think they would work better then holes through a 1" bar.

I made them. It's from a 1 1/8" Solid stock, Cut them 1 1/4" Long and the drilled a 1/2 hole through it. If I start making these bars more I will just machine them out a bunch at a time. Will take no time to drill and cut them on a lathe.
