Hmm...ebay rods...any thoughts?

I stumbled across a set of b16 rods while lurking around ebay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PROBE...7355QQtcZphoto ...what's the opinion on these suckers? If they're actual Probe Industries rods then they should be good, but knowing ebay they might also be a knock-off :-\ Seeing that it's almost time for the hatch to once again enter the garage of doom for the winter, I figured I'd start my hunting early this year. So far it looks like TT's SRP pistons, sending my free ching chong meow t3/to4e to Blaast for a nice rebuild, all that's left to decide on is the rods.

I would def get them. All the lower end rods are from China and probably the same factory anyways.

From the description they pretty much have the same forgin technique as the Eagles. I guess I could just replace the rod bolts with arp 2000's if I wanted to spin the sucker up high. I'm only shooting for between 350-400hp, so it's not like I want a crazy rod...just something that can handle it without me having to worry about ---- breaking. Also been toying with the idea of building my LS bottom instead and running an LS/vtec with the ching chong turbo once it's rebuilt...less than a year old and has the typical 1/4" of shaft play lol.

DO NOT BUY!!!

http://www.d-series.org/forums/showthread.php?t=52488

These are the same guys that were selling a stainless(?) retainer package as a titanium retainer package. They ripped off a few people on D-series.org, and I would really warn against buying from those dirtbags, whoever they are. Some were saying that this might be Javier, and apparently he hasn't always been the most honest of businessmen. Steer clear.

Engine Dynamics sounds like JG Engine Dynamics.

Javier Geek is a wonderful talent... with shady business practices.

Yeah I found basically the same rods for my accord. I'm going to go ahead and buy some in the spring.

That's why I was wondering if they really were Probe Industries or some knock-off no name chink rod. I've known of Probe's rods for a long time, they are a good product but usually much more expensive than what this guy's selling them for.
