High Compression
Okay so my emimissions are almost up, and my car (91 CRX Hf) is burning oil, not allot but I know it definetly wont pass. I bought the car in this condition knowing I would swap out the engine anyways. I later got my hands on a complete Si short block and 98 Y8 vtec head, currently my transplant build. Now we all know this will yield a high compression ratio, so my question is will it effect my emissions? good or bad? any input on this will be greatly appreciated.
compression wont hurt emmisions enough to worry. thing about it.. a type R w/ 11:1 passes fine
two main things mess up emmisions.
1. A/F ratio. to rich and u will blow smoke. too lean and you leave things too hot for the cat to work w/.
2. a bad cat. so dont get rid of that.
